Single files cannot be processed

PDF files
You have Adobe Acrobat Reader available:

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and press CTRL-D to open the document properties. Next, click on the "Security" tab. Check if a security method is active under "Security Method."

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and close it directly. In case the file is corrupt, a prompt will appear asking if you want to save the changes.

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and save it under a new name. If the file is corrupt, an error message will be displayed indicating that the file cannot be saved.

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and use the "Page Down" key to scroll to the end of the file. If there is an issue on a page, this action may trigger an error message on that specific page.

You have Adobe Acrobat Pro available:

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Pro and check the file for syntax errors using Preflight ("User print production" - "Preflight" - "PDF Analysis" - "Report PDF syntax issues").
    If errors are found, you can double-click on an error to see the exact location.

  • Open the file in Adobe Acrobat Pro and open the funktion “Add a Stamp”. Click on “Bates Numbering” - “Add”. Next select the PDF dockument and click on “OK”.
    If an error is displayed here, the PDF file most likely is defective.

You have access to PLOSSYS 4:

  • Check the PDF file with pdfprae. Open a SEAL Shell and perform the following command:
    pdfprae -f <FILENAME> >c:\temp\pdfprae.log
    Please adjust the directory as needed. After it is finished, open the generated log file and check for any errors.

  • Check the PDF file with Ghostscript. Open a SEAL Shell and perform the following command:
    gs <FILENAME> >c:\temp\gs.log
    Please adjust the directory as needed. After it is finished, open the generated log file and check for any errors.


Word/Excel Files

  • Connect to the conversion server and open the file there in Word/Excel. Check if any popups appear.

  • In cae the issue occurs during the conversion to a PDF file, open the file on the conversion server in Word/Excel and save it as a PDF file. If a problem occurs during this step, the file most likely is corrupt.
